I am an old rocker who used to write a lot of songs in the 60's and 70's on my trusty Sony reel-to-reel 4 track. Sadly, it ascended to that great home studio in the sky a long tima ago. I now find myself getting itchy about trying out some new recording - just before i pop my cloggs.

Of course things have changed - no more reel-to-reel stuff around now, so I've been checking out the available options for computer software. I seem to be gravitating to the Cakewalk Sonar Power Studio software and hardware package. Can any one give me some advice on this package before i finally decide?

Also, i need a good studio mike. Suggestions please.
