Frontier TranzPortFrontier Design Group have created a wireless DAW controller called the TranzPort. Man, does this thing look cool! If you're like me, you probably do a lot of your recording by yourself. Acting as talent and producer. This can be a bit frustrating at times. Especially when you screw up. You gotta get up, walk back over to the computer, restart your recording, sit back down, and perform flawlessly. Not always an easy task. Especially with a guitar strapped on. TranzPort frees you from your computer, allowing you to control your DAW system remotely, even from the next room. You can arm tracks, use transport controls, set markers, control pans, punch in/out, start loops, and more from TranzPort’s interface. TranzPort has a backlit LCD display and LED indicators that will show you signal levels, timecode position, track names and more. TranzPort runs on standard AA batteries and can be mounted to a mic stand (using optional adaptor), and has a footswitch input. TranzPort is compatible with Windows 2000/XP and Mac OS X, and requires only one USB port for the receiver.
And it even says the TranzPort will work with other applications. Wow. That's quite a list! The TranzPort goes for around $200 and the optional mic stand adapter is another $15. Not too bad for this nice little device. I think the TranzPort would make life a lot easier in the home studio.
