Jackson Guitars and Jenna JamesonJackson guitars must be having a hard time selling their guitars? I just noticed on their site that they are now using adult film star Jenna Jameson to sell their guitars. There are several pictures of Jenna Jameson with it strapped on...with a guitar strapped on. Whatever happened to using ugly old rock and rollers to sell guitars? I guess somebody decided Jenna Jameson is more appealing to the 13-15 year old kids who actually buy Jackson guitars. What chord is that anyway? At least they could have taught Jenna how to make a barre chord? I guess I'm the only dork looking at her hands. How did they decide on Jenna Jameson? Since they are called Jackson guitars, maybe they could have gotten the "king of pop" himself, or perhaps American Idol judge Randy Jackson? Or baseball hall of famer Reggie Jackson? Who's the marketing wizard behind this one? What's next? Paris Hilton endorsing Gretsch drums? I don't think this ad campaign makes me want to buy a Jackson guitar. However, I do have the sudden urge to go rent some Jenna Jameson videos. ![]()

Jackson Guitars promotion
Though I haven't seen the video myself, I would totally agree.
I've also noticed that Jackson Guitars haven't changed their website since 2006, and it's 2008 now.
They've run a year without changing their design or catalog. That's not marketing.
