n-Track StudioFasoft n-Track Studio is something to consider if you want inexpensive recording software. Way back when, when I was just weened off of my old Tascam 4 track. I discovered a little piece of software called n-Track Studio. At the time, n-Track was only like $30 something dollars. Which is an amazing price. Considering all the other mid-range music production software programs like Magix Music Studio, Cakewalk, Steinberg Cubase, etc. were going for quite a bit more. Thirty bucks was a steal. n-Track Studio was really advanced and easy to use. It was basically my first introduction to digitial recording. I was amazed at the recordings I was getting compared to my old 4 track. n-Track Studio was also compatible with all of my plugins, it had all the effects I needed. Jumping from the world of analog tape to digital recording was an awesome experience. n-Track made that transition a very simple one. n-Track Studio can handle third party DirectX and VST plugins without any problem. I really enjoyed using all of my plug-ins with n-Track. Effects can also be used to process the recorded signal in real-time so that the computer can act as a multi-effects device. n-Track Studio will also do MIDI. You can import and export MIDI tracks to regular MIDI files, and edit using the built in piano-roll based MIDI editing. Do yourself a solid, at least try out the evaluation version of n-Track Studio. One of the best finds for any home music production geek, no home recording studio should be without n-Track Studio. Flavio Antonioli is the man!
