Performer System Computer Controlled Guitar

Transperformance have created a computer controlled guitar system called the Performer. Which allows you to tune in seconds by pressing a button. A small computer mounted inside the self tuning guitar controls motors that are linked to each string. The bridge and tailpiece are replaced by the self tuning system which you can mount on any Les Paul, Stratocastor or Telecaster. What, no Flying V's?

The Performer system reduces the need for additional guitars and takes the hassle out of tuning. You can program up to 240 custom tunings and there are 144 pre-set tunings. Would you ever need more than 144? Wow...

The cool thing about the Performer system is, it will allow you to change tunings during a song with the push of a button. Imagine that? That would make for some interesting songs. The Performer system tunes all six strings at once. Cool stuff.

The LCD Read Out is mounted on top edge for easy viewing of current tunings and system status. The on screen tuner allows you to check the tuning of all strings simultaneously.

The Performer system is not cheap tho, the price for the tuning system in a Les Paul or Telecaster style guitar is $3,399 installed. Add another $500 to that for a Strat. Talk about an investment. The Performer system takes 6-8 weeks to install.

Now if they could just create a computer that could actually play the guitar for me, that'd be worth the three grand!!
