Roland Jazz Chorus JC-90

I just recently got a Roland Jazz Chorus JC-90 a few months back. Man does this amp sound killer!! If you're looking for an awesome clean sound, I'd look into one of these puppies.

Everyone keeps saying how bad the distortion is on these, but I was actually pleasantly surprised with the distortion. Wouldn't be my first choice for a metal amp, but overall I'm extremely happy with the Roland Jazz Chorus.

And this little amplifier cranks, man does it get loud. It blows my old Ampeg 120 watt 4x12 half stack out of the water. I'm not sure how, but it does. I can't imagine how great this amp would sound if I had decent pickups in my cheap guitar.

The Roland Jazz Chorus was a little bit more expensive than the other amps in it's price range and I did have harder time finding it, but it was definately worth the extra money and the leg work.

The JC-90 Jazz Chorus Guitar Amplifier comes standard with:

  • A portable "JC" ideal for gigs and studio use
  • 40W + 40W (RMS) / 2 x 10" speakers
  • Distinctive "JC" stereo chorus with rate and depth controls
  • 4-band equalizer: Bass, Middle, Treble and High-treble
  • Two input channels
  • External effects loop (mono send; stereo return)
  • Cabinet-voiced headphone output
  • Three footswitch jacks for chorus, reverb and distortion

I ended up buying a footpedal so I could control the chorus, reverb and distortion with a kick of the ol foot. I cannot say enough great things about this amp, you really have to hear it to understand how awesome it is!

Try and find a store that carries a Roland Jazz Chorus and go try it out. You will be blown away by the sparkling clean sounds and lush chorus effects of the JC-90.
