Turn Your Old Toaster into a Guitar Amplifier

Hottie Amplifiers claim they will turn your old toaster into a guitar amplifier. A toaster? Will it cook toast too?

Hottie Amplifiers are solid state units fitted in vintage toasters and powered by a 9-volt battery.  They use a 6" Jensen MOD speaker and have an output jack to drive an external speaker cab.  Hotties will power any 4, 8, or 16-ohm speaker cab and can also be used as an overdrive.

This is what Hottie Amplifiers say about their toasters...I mean amplifiers:

"We start with a very simple solid state amp circuit that provides classic overdrive and sweet sustain.  Hotties have an input jack and an output jack ... that's it.  Volume and tone can be adjusted via your guitar's volume and tone controls.  Dialing back the volume on your guitar will clean up your sound considerably.  Dialing back your guitar's tone knob will warm up your sound providing a fat bluesy tone.

The 6" Jensen "MOD" speaker breaks up nicely and provides enough volume for practice, travel, or home use.  Sound from the speaker bounces around inside the toaster and creates a natural reverberation before exiting through the bread slots.  Whenever possible we keep the crumb trays attached to the bottom of the toaster.  Some crumb trays are attached to the toaster's internal parts rather than the toaster's chassis.  In these cases the crumb trays cannot be reattached and the bottom of the toaster is left open allowing for a more ambient sound.  Each type of toaster has its own unique sonic qualities."

Pretty interesting stuff. Hottie Amplifiers' website says that if you send in your own toaster, they will convert it for only $109. That's a crispy deal...
